PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk in collaboration with BBPTUHPT Batu Raden which is the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Directorate General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia held a trial of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) for school children in Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province on 7-11 October 2024. There are 5,619 Elementary School and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students in Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency who received Nutritious Meals.

Director of PT Malindo Feedmill Tbk, Rewin Hanrahan welcomed the trial of the Nutritious Meals program in schools. This program is certainly good because the next generation of children will get nutritious food according to their needs. Hopefully the MBG location can also target areas prone to stunting that we still find in Indonesia.

Malindo as one of the livestock agribusiness companies that produces chicken and egg protein sources hopes that this MBG program can increase demand for chicken meat and eggs which ultimately will improve chicken and egg farming efforts and farmers will also be more prosperous.

As we know, the poultry industry has recently been faced with declining purchasing power of the community, which has had an impact on the decline in the selling price of broiler chickens and eggs. In the MBG event in Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency, Malindo had the opportunity to visit SD Negeri 4 Pasinggangan and SD Negeri 4 Karangrau on October 10, 2024 to witness the distribution of MBG directly and at the same time educate school students about the importance of consuming chicken and eggs for children’s health and intelligence.

The MBG menu distributed to children is in accordance with the “Isi Piringku” standard, namely food with balanced nutrition, namely half a plate of staple foods and side dishes and the other half a plate of vegetables and fruits. The event ended with a quiz and enjoying the lunch that was distributed.
